General Manager and Head Pro, 2009-2011

New Liskeard Golf Club

New Liskeard, Ontario, Canada


In charge of all facets of daily operations of this 18-hole course.  Managed 20 employees.


Pro Shop Management Highlights & Revenue Increase

  • Quadrupled revenue in first year of managing the pro shop.  Increased equipment and other inventory sales (golf clubs, golf balls, clothing, etc.) from $26,000 (previous year gross, under previous management) to over $100,000 gross.

  • Designed and oversaw renovation of Pro Shop and Office.

  • Conducted retail sales, performed club repair and custom fittings.

  • Held major manufacturer DEMO days with PING, Adams golf, Callaway (Tour Van) and Cobra. Revenue impact: $5,000 in sales per DEMO day.

  • Installed and maintained RCGA handicap software.

  • Conducted retail sales, performed club repair and custom fittings.


Marketing/PR & Coaching Highlights

  • Developed junior golf program to introduce golf to area school children.

  • Hosted Northern Ontario High School golf tournament.

  • Taught free clinics for new and beginning members.

  • Liaison between club and local business community for fund raising and donations.



  • Responsible for authorizing payments and verification of invoices.

  • Audited financial statements for governing board.

Haileybury Golf Club

In charge of all facets of daily operations of this 9-hole course.  Managed 16 employees.


Golf Coaching Highlights

  • Coached numerous golfers (adults and children).

  • Coached one student to All-American status and one student to All-Conference status. All-Conference student is now the Head Coach for Womenís Golf at Long Island University, NY.


Financials & Increased Revenue

  • Changed cart fleet usage policy from private carts to 24 club-owned carts. This tripled the average annual cart revenue from $600 per cart to $1800 per cart.  (Former members with private carts grandfathered in.)

  • Increased revenue stream each year, from $180,000 annual gross to over half a million dollars annual gross. Annual revenue tripled during tenure (numbers reflect increases in both membership and pro shop sales).

  • In charge of all financials: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Invoicing/Billing, prep of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements. Prepared financial statements for governing board.

  • Converted bookkeeping/accounting system from Accpac to QuickBooks.

Experience as Events Producer & Charity Fundraiser


Frogs Breath Annual Pro-Am Charity Golf Tournament

  • For 6 years, produced this large pro-am tournament, which raised money for projects such as:

    • New catscan machine for local hospital.

    • New wing at a senior citizenís home.

    • Renovations to local golf courses.

    • Renovations to a hockey arena.

    • Reparations for a downhill ski club.

  • Functioned as Liaison between the Frogs Breath Committee and PGA Tour Canada.

  • Tournament raised over $7 million in 6 years.

Amateur Tournaments at New Liskeard and Haileybury Golf Courses

  • Produced over 600 amateur golf tournaments (over 40 tournaments per year, over a 15 year period), many for charitable causes such as:

    • Victims in Crisis Assistance

    • Cancer Society

    • and others
